‘LINES’- The UK’s first ever Photography and Cocktail Pairing.
On November 15th, The Venner Bar and Bull Hotel, in Collaboration with a local Artist, Photographer and Videographer, will be hosting the UK’s first ever photography and cocktail pairing.
Thomas Hay-Owens, a multi-award winning bartender from Manchester and new Bar Manager of The Venner Bar, will be teaming up with the artistic, creative mind of Alfie Golding and The Bull Hotel’s Head Chef, George Marsh, to create a 4 course tasting menu and exhibition. Each course comes with a cocktail and tasting plate, which focuses on a particular photograph and the story behind said picture, with the overall theme of the night being the title of the event: Lines.
Golding is fascinated by and explores the use of lines within his work: how they connect and disconnect places, people and cultures, and has travelled the world in search for some of the best photographs the world has to offer. Such locations including Sweden, Australia, China, New Zealand, France and Italy. He has worked with one of the UK’s leading sculptors, as well as the likes of Crowd Funder and St James’ Cathedral and Square as a photographer, videographer and as part of an installation team, respectively.
As well as the 4 main food, drink and photo pairings, The Bull Hotel will also be showcasing a gallery of photographic art from local and new talent, who’s pieces all tie in to the overall theme of the event. All the work on show that evening will also be available for purchase.
David Crookes, Holding General Manager of The Bull Hotel, said “I’m incredibly excited that The Bull Hotel will be hosting something like this. It’ll be a fantastic opportunity to put The Venner Bar back on the map and to also support local, up and coming artistic talent at the same time. I can’t wait to see what Tom, Alfie and George produce”.
Lloyd Brown, Dorset’s Drink Ambassador said “We are delighted to welcome Tom into the Bridport bartending community. Bridport is constantly becoming more and more diverse in regards to food and drink and having someone creative like Tom involved is only going to add even more diversity and intrigue. We’re really looking forward to seeing what he produces in his first event here”.
Tickets are £30 per head and the event begins at 7pm until 9:30pm.
